James Harris focuses on a variety of corporate and securities matters, brokerage agreements, public securities offerings, private equity transactions, non-profit representations, and bond transactions. Prior to joining Kent Law Corporation, he practiced as a corporate and mergers and acquisitions lawyer.
Mr. Harris received his A.B. in government from Dartmouth College and his J.D. magna cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Southern University where he was a member of the Board of Advocates.
Representative Matters:
- Creating multigenerational estate plans for tax planning and non-tax related issues (special needs, creditor protection incapacity, second marriage, charitable planning)
- Drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advanced healthcare directives, pre and post nuptial agreements, loan agreements, buy/sell agreements, etc.
- Brought an action before the Philadelphia County Orphans’ Court for corporate trustee removal, trust combination, and trust modification
- Brought an action before the Register of Wills of Allegheny County to admit copy of a will
- Negotiated settlement among estate beneficiaries in New York and Hungary
