Paul grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City, Kansas, but left the Midwest to go to college at the University of Tennessee. There, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Finance with honors. He received his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where he graduated in the top five percent of his class and was a member of the Law Review and Trial Team. He became a member of the Missouri Bar in 1991, the Pennsylvania Bar in 1995, and the New Jersey Bar in 2013.
Paul served as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General’s Corp of the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1995. During his four years of military service, his time was split between defending and prosecuting sailors and marines before courts-martial. Following his time in the Navy, he spent two years with the Office of General Counsel for the Department of the Navy practicing employment law.
From 1999 until joining the Law Offices of William Kent in 2012, he was engaged in a practice of intense general litigation with the firm of Margolis Edelstein in Philadelphia. In this position, he handled trial matters before courts in more than a dozen Pennsylvania counties as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Further, Paul has presented numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Pennsylvania appellate courts including twice arguing before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania resulting in numerous published decisions.
In 1999, Paul earned a graduate degree of Masters-in-Divinity with first honors from Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, PA. He currently lives in Jenkintown, PA, with his wife, three children and dog.
